We are huge proponents of eating local, but some places simply have better terrior than others and Crete is the premier spot in the world for growing extraordinary olive trees which produce exceptional olive oils.  It is only through a greater diversity of food that there is greater nutrient diversity.

The Crete biosphere and the Koroneiki olive varietal are why we can offer olive oils of exceptional taste, aroma, antioxidant, biophenol levels.

Organic food is big business in the U.S. sales of organic products topped $61 billion in 2022 – and the certified organic label fetches a premium price for producers.

So much so that fraud from both domestic and imported sources had become a major concern among organic industry business owners, investors and advocates.

Organic labels are not just stickers on packaging; they are symbols of a producer's commitment to adhering to strict production and processing standards. This commitment is verified by a third party, adding an additional layer of trust.

Why is it advisable to avoid consuming olive oil from plastic packaging?  Plastic is the least suitable container for olive oil. It may cost more less in plastic, but the price is too high. 

We want to share with you that we hand-harvest our olives, and it is a pretty big deal here at The Tassos Company.

Hand harvesting is definitely not the fastest way to gather a crop either, but it is the only approach that is sustainable as it cherishes the tree, the fruit, and our customers.
